- Froth of palest purple flowers on the rosemary bush is starting to fall into a halo on the dark brown soil.
- Maggie and I play Playdoh; I make Schnitzel von Krumm, after which she insists that I make Hairy McLary. I do my best (ever tried to make fur out of Playdoh?) but Maggie pronounces the resulting artefact a lizard.
- Playing dress-ups, Becca and Maggie put on their matching dark red party frocks. We're wearing uniforms, observes Becca like we're going to Princess School, and these are our uniforms.
